Tramlines turns Hillsborough Park into Sheffield's biggest summer party

Every July, Hillsborough Park becomes the noisiest, happiest corner of Sheffield. Tramlines, the city's homegrown festival, ran from 24 to 26 July in 2026, with Fatboy Slim headlining the Friday, Courteeners topping the Saturday and Wolf Alice closing the weekend on the Sunday.
The wider bill was packed with familiar favourites. Kaiser Chiefs, Blossoms and Wet Leg were among the big names, alongside Rick Astley, Gabrielle, The Coral, The Vaccines, Inspiral Carpets, Sleeper and Sheffield's own Reverend and the Makers and Everly Pregnant Brothers. Comedy had its place too, with Dom Joly, Ross Noble and Reginald D Hunter added to the line-up in March.
There was something new as well. Day Fever, the daytime disco founded by Vicky McClure, Jonny Owen and Jon McClure, made its Tramlines debut. Demand was strong long before the gates opened: more than 20,000 fans registered for pre-sale access, and by the time the line-up was announced in November, festival bosses said more than two-thirds of tickets had sold. The reveal even doubled as a good deed, with a donation drive for the S6 Foodbank.
"We can't wait to welcome everyone back to Hillsborough Park for another huge weekend of music, comedy, and fun," said Timm Cleasby, Tramlines operations director, when the bill was unveiled.
It is a long way from the festival's beginnings. Tramlines launched in 2009 as a free event spread across more than 70 city-centre venues, drawing around 35,000 people. Crowds grew quickly, the festival became ticketed in 2013 at just £6 a day, and in 2018 it moved out to Hillsborough Park. Pulp headlined in 2025, a homecoming moment for the city.
Today the festival welcomes around 40,000 people across five stages, including the Sarah Nulty Main Stage. Families have their own space in Into the Trees, with workshops, activities and funfair rides, and the Tramlines Trust supports local charities and young people.
Planning for next summer is well under way. The Super Early Bird, Early Bird and first-tier tickets for 2027 have already sold out, and the organisers recommend walking, public transport or the bus to reach the park rather than driving.
Ticket tiers, travel advice and line-up news are all on the Tramlines website.
