Some jewellery is made to dazzle, and some is made to be lived in. Lyon & Feather, a Sheffield-based jewellery brand, belongs firmly in the second camp, creating pieces that are designed to be worn often and kept for a long time.

The brand was founded in 2013 under the name Tarr & Fether and reimagined in 2019 as Lyon & Feather, a natural evolution shaped by time and experience. It was created by Tash, a fashion stylist with a background in visual storytelling and an eye for form, balance and detail.

Every piece is made by hand in small batches in the heart of Sheffield, using .925 silver, copper and 9-carat gold alongside carefully selected semi-precious stones. Raw crystal forms sit alongside refined settings so that the natural character of the materials remains visible, and subtle variations mean each piece has its own individuality.

The collections draw on an appreciation for ritual, symbolism and slow, seasonal living. Customers can browse crystal rings, necklaces and earrings, a charm bar, lucky red string pieces, personalised and charity jewellery, and a range of curiosities. The brand's thoughtful approach extends to simple packaging and cloth pouches.

Lyon & Feather now has a home in Leah's Yard on Cambridge Street, the restored Grade II* listed building where Sheffield's Little Mesters once worked. It feels like a fitting setting for a maker carrying on the city's long tradition of craftsmanship in metal. In the shop, visitors will find the handmade jewellery alongside ethically sourced crystals, tarot and oracle decks and gifts that do not always make it onto the website.

The brand has caught the eye of the local press too, with features listed from Exposed Magazine, Toast Magazine and Chase Magazine.

The Leah's Yard shop is open from Wednesday to Sunday, though Tash notes there is only one of her, so it is worth checking Instagram for last-minute updates. The full collection can be found on the Lyon & Feather website.
